Addiction Medicine Fellowship (ACGME) - How to Apply

Candidates who are already employed as attendings at a Kaiser Permanente location must be nominated by their Chief of Service.

All candidates should submit their complete application materials by emailing Carolyn Vincent by October 14, 2019.

The materials will be evaluated by the Addiction Medicine Committee, and all candidates will be invited to an in-person interview at the regional office in Oakland on November 22, 2019.

The qualified candidate will be awarded a letter of offer and undergo the onboarding process for Kaiser Permanente and the Fellowship.

Application Procedure

Candidates who are employed by The Permanente Medical Group must be nominated by their Chief of Service.

All candidates should submit their application materials directly to the address listed below.

The materials will be evaluated by the Addiction Medicine Committee, and shortlisted candidates will be invited to an in-person interview. If the candidate is suitable for a Fellowship position, the application packet will be forwarded to the Kaiser Permanente Human Resources Department for review and assessment for employment.

Selection Timeline

Acceptance into the fellowship is conditional on employment at Kaiser Permanente. An offer of Fellowship is not final until the fellow has successfully completed a background checked by Kaiser Permanente.

Applications are accepted throughout the year. The 2020-2021 application review schedule is as follows:

December 15-31, 2019 Fellowship Offers Extended
February 18-May 29, 2020 Regional Human Resources & Health Documentation Process completed
July 1, 2020 New Employee Orientation (NEO) for the GSAA and Fellowship begins
