the UME/GME team

Program Administrators are vital members of the UME/GME team as they provide day-to-day administration and management of the medical student, residency and/or fellowship programs. Under the general direction of the Program Director, Program Administrators perform many duties that include maintenance of files on all students, residents, and fellows, and creating, distributing, and tracking evaluations. Program Administrators will also compile, prepare, and submit reports for the Program Director, UME/GME office, and accrediting bodies.

Skill set and competencies

The skill set and competencies of a Program Administrator include excellent written and verbal communication, 3-5 years of office administration experience, and knowledge of a variety of software applications. Program Administrators must have a general understanding of national accreditation policies, hospital policies and a high degree of independence, initiative, and judgment.
