Medical Students – Educational Tracks – La Salud Permanente Latinx Health Elective - Locations

Antioch

At Antioch Delta Fair, we are happy to welcome 4th year medical students and residents interested in the La Salud Permanente elective. Delta fair serves a very diverse population with about 40% of our members being Latino. Within our “Salud en Español” module, they constitute more than half of our daily encounters. This elective provides a great opportunity to work hand in hand with committed bilingual, bicultural Internal Medicine physicians dedicated to help improve the health of our members and community. Participants will experience our integrated model of care, spend time with members of our team, health educators, diabetes care managers, as well as community partners. Time will be allotted for students to work on a project of their choice, to be presented at the end of the elective. Improving the health of our Latino patients depends greatly in seeking to understand their unique challenges and strengths. We welcome those interested in expanding their knowledge of these and the difference it can make for their health and the health of our Latino communities.
