Marcela Toro Bejarano, MD
Fellow
About
Originally from Tegucigalpa, Honduras, she moved to the U.S. for her college education; attending Weill Cornell Medicine and joining the Kaiser East Bay-UCSF Fellowship Program after completing her residency at NYU. She was immediately drawn to this program due to the broad range of surgical expertise among the faculty and the diversity of the patient population across the institutions Kaiser serves. Her research interests are centered around clinical outcomes research and medical equity, with a thesis examining the effectiveness of mid-urethral slings following significant weight changes. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring the East Bay, discovering new and delicious restaurants, and—to her surprise— finding joy in hiking (a must-do in the bay area!).

About Me
Dr. Jaber Saad earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and completed medical school and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. We were first drawn to this fellowship training program by the incredibly welcoming fellows and faculty. He has enjoyed the diversity of his training experience both at KP and UCSF. His special interests include the effect of adverse childhood experiences on the development of genitourinary disorders, obstetrical anal sphincter injuries, and medical education. The Bay Area is wonderful, and Dr. Saad enjoys exploring the countless spectacular hikes in the hills and mountains and along the water with his wife and two kids.

About
Dr. Wenjin Cheng grew up in Sichuan, China and received her medical degree from the Peking University Health Science Center in Beijing. Prior to entering our fellowship training program, Dr. Cheng completed residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Beaumont Hospital in Dearborn, Michigan. Her academic interests include the pathophysiology of pelvic organ prolapse and pelvic floor function in the postpartum population. Dr. Cheng was drawn to this fellowship program due to the diverse patient population, broad surgical approaches, and complex clinical variety encompassed by the combination of KP and UCSF. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Cheng has delved into clinical research and utilized the robust research curriculum within UCSF. In her free time, she greatly enjoys exploring the many outdoor activities available in the Bay Area.
