About
Olga Ramm is the FPMRS Fellowship Program Director and recently took on the role of The Permanente Medical Group (TPMG) Regional Chief of Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery. She joined KP East Bay in 2013 after completing her FPMRS fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago following OB/Gyn residency at Northwestern. Her research interests include surgical outcomes, birth trauma, and patient counseling and consent. She places great value and emphasis on surgical teaching.

About
Donna Deng earned a medical degree at the University of California, Davis, followed by internship and residency in urology at UCSF. She then completed a fellowship in pelvic reconstructive surgery, neurourology and urodynamics at UCLA. She was an Associate Professor in the UCSF Department of Urology for the past 10 years. While at UCSF, she was involved in developing the use of stem cells to treat urinary incontinence. She has recently joined Kaiser Oakland’s Department of Urology and is the Lead for Neurourology for Kaiser Northern California. Dr. Deng's clinical expertise includes neurourology, urinary incontinence, voiding dysfunction, complex pelvic reconstruction and genitourinary fistula repair. Her expertise in complex pelvic reconstructive cases and mesh complications has drawn referrals from California and neighboring states. Dr. Deng's current research interests lie in Neurourology. Her other passion is patient education its effects on quality of care. She is the Chairman of the Board of NAFC, the largest consumer advocacy organization that provides unbiased information to health care providers and patients with pelvic floor disorders. Dr. Deng has a master’s degree in global health and has worked in the Philippines, Kenya and Tanzania, training local surgeons and healthcare workers in the care of patients.

About Me
Caitlyn Painter, DO is an Assistant Professor within the Division of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). She received her B.S. from Emory University in Biology. She completed her fellowship in FPMRS at the Kaiser East Bay-UCSF program and stayed on to join the faculty. She attended medical school at Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine in California and went on to do her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Kaiser Permanente East Bay. She is an osetopathic physician with a special interest in the complex interactions of pelvic floor disorders, pelvic pain, and musculoskeletal dysfunction. Dr. Painter’s research interests include birth trauma and its prevention as well as the psychological impact of birth trauma on parturients.

About Me
Abigail Shatkin-Margolis, MD has joined the urogynecology division at UCSF following her work as fellowship clinical faculty within Kaiser Permanente Diablo Service Area. Dr. Shatkin-Margolis completed her FPMRS Fellowship at TriHealth Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Prior to fellowship she completed her residency training in OBGYN at Kaiser East Bay. She is a born-and-raised East coaster, who attended Brown University and Tufts University School of Medicine for her undergraduate and graduate education. Her recent research interests are centered around access to care and care equity among women with pelvic floor disorders. Her past research endeavors have focused on improving patient outcomes related to postoperative urinary retention and interstitial cystitis management. She is passionate about medication education and delivering patient-centered care.

About
Abner Korn, MD is a Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at UCSF where he has worked since 1990. He is Director of Gynecology at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and divides his time between there, Mission Bay and Mount Zion campuses of UCSF. His current areas of research include outcome of obstetric fistula repair in East Africa and surgical skills education, especially in low resource settings. He is an active participant in surgical skills education, and the global health activities of the OB/GYN department at UCSF.

Michelle Van Kuiken, MD graduated with Honors from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Marketing and a minor in Biology. She attended medical school at UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas where she was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She then went on to complete her urology residency at Loyola University Medical Center in the Chicago area where she earned a certificate of distinction for her contribution to quality and safety improvement. Dr. Van Kuiken joined the UCSF Department of Urology having recently completed a fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at UCLA. Dr. Van Kuiken specializes in both male and female lower urinary tract dysfunction including overactive bladder, urinary incontinence, urinary retention, recurrent urinary tract infections, and pelvic/bladder pain syndromes. She manages patients with complex neurologic conditions affecting the bladder. Dr. Van Kuiken spent her research year in residency with a focus on the urinary microbiome. She remains interested in how alterations in the microbiome affect lower urinary tract health in regard to overactive bladder, recurrent urinary tract infections, and bladder pain syndromes. She is also interested in how other factors outside of the urinary tract affect bladder health such as diet, nutrition, bowel health, and hormonal factors.

Salim Wehbe is an FPMRS specialist at Kaiser Permanente, Sacramento/Roseville site, which he joined 6 years ago. He is an Associate Professor at University of California, Davis for the last 10 years. He completed Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Atlanta Medical Center, GA and a Fellowship training at Drexel University, Philadelphia. About Me
Andrew Walter MD, FACOG is a fellowship trained Urogynecology specialist at Kaiser Permanente, Sacramento/Roseville site. He completed Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at UC Davis Medication in 1995 and Fellowship training at Mayo Clinic Scottsdale from 1997-1999. After completing service with the United States Air Force in 2002, Dr Walter joined Kaiser Permanente in 2002, serving as the division director since 2003 and serving as the Regional Subchief in Urogynecology from 2006-2011. He has done numerous roles for ACOG, AUGS and SGS including serving as the President of the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons from 2015-16. Dr Walter’s area of expertise include vaginal surgery, interstitial cystitis and chronic pelvic pain. When not working, Dr Walter spends time with his family snowboarding, traveling and hiking and also has a 2nd job as a wine maker for small urban wine co-op.
