Intern and Resident time is split between Core Rotations and Elective time. Core rotations include Inpatient Wards, ICU, Ambulatory Care, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Geriatrics, Santa Clara Valley Infectious Disease (1 month spent during the PGY 2 year), Hematology/Oncology, Nephrology and Neurology. In all three years, residents alternate inpatient and outpatient rotations every two weeks.
