I grew up in Bellevue, WA and attended Pomona College in Claremont, CA for my undergraduate studies where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in neuroscience. I completed my medical degree at Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific-Northwest (COMP-NW) in Lebanon, OR and joined Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa as a family medicine resident in 2025. I chose a career in Family Medicine because I value long-term, meaningful relationships with patients and their families. I am passionate about providing inclusive, whole-person care and supporting patients in reaching their health goals—especially those from historically marginalized communities. As a family physician, I aim to provide compassionate, trauma-informed care that integrates mental health, lifestyle medicine, and an understanding of each patient's unique background. I enjoy working with patients of all ages and backgrounds, and I'm particularly interested in women's health, gender affirming care, health equity, preventive medicine, and culturally responsive care. Outside of work, I enjoy exploring farmer's markets and coffee shops, trying out new recipes I find online, running, playing badminton, traveling, crafts, and spending time with friends and family. I am also fluent in Mandarin and enjoy learning new languages, including Japanese, Korean, and Spanish. I'm honored to be part of the incredible team at Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa. My path to medicine started long before I ever wore a white coat. For over a decade, I explored health through lived experience—learning by listening, teaching, and working in communities where access was limited but relationships mattered deeply. I was raised in a medically underserved area and saw firsthand how health is shaped not just by disease, but by stress, isolation, resilience, and the strength of support systems. That understanding stayed with me through every role I took on: as a youth mentor, ophthalmic technician, and later, as a medical student balancing family life with clinical training. I trained through the University of Washington School of Medicine's WWAMI program, completing rotations across the Northwest. During those years, I often drove 12 to 18 hours roundtrip on weekends—or commuted more than three hours daily—just to be home with my wife and daughters. I learned how to hold presence, efficiency, and compassion in the same hand. That time stretched me, but it also clarified my professional priority: I want to be a doctor who builds real, lasting relationships, who listens well, and who helps people make decisions that align with their values. As a family physician, I'm committed to full-spectrum care that prevents suffering before it starts. I've led health education electives, mentored students from underrepresented backgrounds, and conducted quality improvement research in clinical medicine—all driven by a desire to make healthcare more humane, more accessible, and more effective. Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa stood out as a place where clinical excellence, wellness, and innovation are pursued together—and where I can grow into the kind of physician who not only treats illness, but helps people live more fully. I'm here to grow as a physician, serve my community, and empower patients to live with more vitality, clarity, and connection.

I have a deep-rooted passion for whole-person care. I’m particularly drawn to the intersection of medicine, mental health, and lifestyle—where small, sustainable changes can transform lives. My goal is to pursue fellowship training in Addiction Medicine and Pain Medicine after residency, expanding my ability to care for patients dealing with complex chronic pain and substance use challenges. I believe in the power of prevention, and I’m especially focused on helping patients manage chronic disease, reduce their pain burden, and reclaim their quality of life through evidence-based care, nutrition, movement, and compassionate support. Before medical school, I worked in clinical research and psychiatry at UCSF and the San Francisco VA, where I contributed to studies exploring novel treatments for mental illness, including the use of MDMA for treatment-resistant depression. I grew up in Salinas, California, but also spent two years of my adolescence living in India. I attended college in rural Maryland and returned home to California for medical school at UC Davis. Throughout my undergraduate and medical education, I had the opportunity to work with refugees, in youth shelters, at needle exchanges, on ambulances, and at gender-affirming care clinics. These experiences shaped my commitment to trauma-informed, patient-centered medicine, in which each patient's care is directed by their individual priorities and values rather than those of the healthcare system or provider. I have published research in Harm Reduction, founded a Health at Every Size advocacy group at my medical school, and studied Spanish to better serve my community. I am thrilled to be training as a family physician in order to gain the skills to care for patients and families through every season of life as a full-spectrum primary-care doctor.

I was born and raised in San Francisco, a city that shaped my love for community, diversity, and connection. I completed my undergraduate studies at UC Davis, where I majored in Microbiology and minored in Human Development. It was there that I discovered my passion for the intersection of science, human behavior, and community health. Growing up in an immigrant household, I saw how intimidating and complex the healthcare system could be. These early experiences sparked my interest in family medicine—a field where I can bridge gaps in care and advocate for patients from all backgrounds. While volunteering as a medical scribe in San Francisco's Bayview-Hunter's Point neighborhood, I gained a deeper understanding of how social factors like housing, transportation, nutrition, and emotional support affect health outcomes. At Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine, I was drawn to the osteopathic philosophy of treating the whole person. My education reinforced the importance of holistic, patient-centered care and listening to each person's unique story. I truly love my co-residents and faculty. The program offers strong training in reproductive health procedures, joint injections, and biopsies, which has been a highlight for me. That said, I’d love to see more urgent care exposure (which is thankfully in progress), and I wish there were more good Asian food options nearby!
