Internal Medicine Santa Clara - Curriculum & Rotation Schedule

Our Curriculum

Inpatient Rounds teaching rounds are held daily by ward team attendings and are incorporated into work rounds. Ward teams round daily starting at 9:30 a.m. This is dedicated time for the ward teams to discuss the patients and any formal teaching that is prepared by either the attending or team. Rounds are a combination of bedside and table discussions.

Academic Half Day is every Thursday from 12:00p.m. – 4:30p.m. This is truly protected time for education for our residents and medical students. They have the opportunity to learn from our highly educated faculty including Primary Care Physicians, Intensivists, Hospitalists, Endocrinologists, Cardiologists, Gastroenterologists, Oncologists, Hematologists, Radiologists and many more specialties. There is also tremendous opportunity for hands on education including ultrasound and simulation lab as well as peer to peer education and ABIM examination preparation. Not only is this a time for education, our residents use this time to bond and celebrate their commonalities.

Noon Conference is held daily from 12:30-1:30 PM for our residents who are on outpatient and electives. This is an opportunity for peer-to-peer education. Our residents present on various topics including training didactic lectures, simulation training, Journal Clubs, Ambulatory Care Talks, Peer Reviews, Grand Rounds, Resident Wellness, Lifestyle Medicine and others.
