About Me
I came to Kaiser Permanente in 2016 with a single mission: to build a psychiatry residency from the ground up. When colleagues asked what my backup plan would be if it didn’t work out, I always said, “There is no backup plan.” Six years of strategic planning, followed by two years of intensive faculty development and curriculum design, have brought us to this moment. I am delighted to welcome our first psychiatry residents and to help create the representative psychiatric workforce our community so urgently needs. I earned my MD at UC Davis School of Medicine and completed my general psychiatry residency at UC Davis Medical Center. My curricular interests include psychotherapy, eating disorders, “teaching how to teach,” curriculum development, and humanities in medicine. Outside of work, I treasure spending time with my husband and daughter—whether on impromptu road trips or exploring the Truckee–Donner Summit area through hiking, mountain biking, and stand-up paddleboarding—capturing moments with my camera (and Bird Buddy for bird-watching), listening to audiobook mysteries and fiction, gardening in my backyard, and collecting pressed pennies as mementos of our journeys.

About Me
I am a Northern California native, growing up in San Francisco before getting my undergraduate degree in Psychology at UC Berkeley. I attended medical school at UC Davis and loved it so much here in Sacramento, I decided to stay at UC Davis for both Psychiatry Residency and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship. I joined The Permanente Medical Group in 2017 as a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and have a particular interest in neurodevelopmental disorders, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD. I am thrilled to be a part of the Greater Sacramento Valley Psychiatry Residency as the Associate Program Director of Curriculum Development. I am passionate about teaching and curriculum design, and enjoy engaging with learners at all levels. When I am not working, I spend my free time with my wife and two daughters, listen to audiobooks, play board games, watch movies, and visit with family and friends.

How I Thrive
I thrive through a variety of methods. Spending time with my family and friends and supporting my children in their sporting activities are big for me. I also enjoy very light reading that takes my mind away from the more serious things in life given so much of my work is with crisis patients. Physical activity via running and through my Peloton membership are also key to me maintaining my balance. Lastly, I like to explore new activities and try new things from a creative perspective.

About Me
Hi! I am so excited to be part of the core faculty here at Kaiser Permanente GSV Psychiatry Residency. KP offers truly a great work-life balance for physicians. I have two young kids (ages 2 and 5) who keep me on my toes, and when I'm not chasing after them, I'm in the garden babysitting plants - my other "babies," as my family likes to say. I also love to eat, food is my love language! Lately, I've been diving into the world of points travel (IYKYK 😊), and I love connecting with fellow travelers and geeking out over all things travel planning.
