Congratulations to Abhay Dandekar, MD, Pediatric Residency Program Director, as the recipient of the Core Clerkship Teaching Award for your outstanding work on the wards with medical students during the 2013-2014 academic year. The award is give by the Associated Students of the School of Medicine (ASSM) Core Clerkship Teaching Award Committee and with the support of the UCSF School of Medicine's Office of Undergraduate Medical Education. He will receive the award at a ceremony on October 30th. The Core Clerkship Teaching Awards are a way for medical students to recognize their most outstanding teachers and mentors while they rotate through their third year core clerkships. Over the course of their third year, the committee invited medical students to submit nominations for residents and faculty who have gone above and beyond in terms of dedication to teaching, mentorship, community-building, patient care, and medical student development and support. Congratulations, Dr. Dandekar!

Congratulations to Kaiser Permanente Oakland, Pediatrics Program Director, Abhay Dandekar, MD, for his nomination as Volunteer Clinical Faculty at UCSF. Each year, senior medical students members of UCSF's chapter of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society elect members of the housestaff, alumni, faculty members and one volunteer clinical faculty to the chapter. The Class of 2014 elected Dr. Dandekar as volunteer clinical faculty, selected from several thousand eligible candidates. This is a tremendous honor for Dr. Dandekar.
