Prep Medico is a partnership with UC Davis and Kaiser Permanente Northern California. The program is offered to First- and second-year college students (or community college) who are residents of the Central Valley and Northern California. Students must have completed English Composition and one semester/quarter of General Chemistry OR General Biology and have a GPA of 2.85 or higher. Students must also demonstrate interest in becoming a physician and serving Latinx communities. The program includes interaction with health professionals at UC Davis Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente facilities in Sacramento and Napa/Solano. Students examine Latinx health disparities and the social determinants of health, understand their personal leadership style and develop new skills, receive structured academic advising and mentoring.
