Our graduates are well-prepared for a diverse array of practice and advanced training venues. While it varies from year to year, about half of our graduating residents pursue careers in general pediatrics (inpatient and outpatient), and about half continue on to advanced training via fellowship. Many hold leadership and teaching positions in a breadth of organizations on a local, regional, and national level.
Alumni Spotlight
Christina Sullivan, MD
Dr. Sullivan is one of our program graduates, class of 2017. Christina grew up just a few blocks from the Kaiser Oakland Medical Center and is passionate about serving the Bay Area’s diverse community. She is a National Health Service Corps Scholar and is currently practicing general inpatient and outpatient pediatrics in Sonoma County. Deepika Parmar, MD, MPH
Dr. Parmar is one of our MD/MPH graduates, class of 2019. Deepika is passionate about working with at-risk youth to alleviate barriers to access to care, provide sexual health education and use a multidisciplinary approach to provide early prevention and intervention. During her MPH, she focused her research on sexual minority youth (SMY) looking at prevalence and demographics in the Kaiser Permanente Northern California population in order to better advocate for services for this population. After her MPH year, Dr. Parmar began her Adolescent Medicine fellowship at UCSF and plans to use her public health skills to continue to improve the health of teens.
