These can be determined and achieved collectively by hospital leaders, Program Directors and Faculty. Examples include time and resources dedicated to program improvement, training, pathway development, a healthy workforce that supports residents and fellows and organizational goals such as patient safety and quality of care.<\/p>\n<p>The role of the Program Manager is to ensure that residency and fellowship program goals are met and reported with accuracy and efficiency, with a focus on resident and fellow education, clinical competency development, resident\/fellow well-being, program efficiency, and compliance with accreditation standards, with measurable metrics such as board pass rates, resident satisfaction scores, timely completion of rotations, and quality improvement project outcomes.<\/p>\n<p>Examples of goals:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure residents and fellows achieve a high level of clinical competency in all required specialties<\/li>\n<li>Achieve a 100% first attempt pass rate on board examinations for all graduating residents<\/li>\n<li>Increase the number of residents and fellows presenting research and scholarly activities at a national conference by 10% within the next year<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Examples of Metrics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Board pass rates on the first attempt<\/li>\n<li>In-training exam scores<\/li>\n<li>Completion of required rotations<\/li>\n<li>Number of resident\/fellow-led quality improvement projects<\/li>\n<li>Number of resident\/fellow scholarly activities, projects, or publications<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Data collection:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Collect and analyze data to track progress toward goals and identify areas for improvement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Goal Setting:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Set SMART goals to ensure effective monitoring and evaluation<\/li>\n<li><strong>Specific: <\/strong>The goal clearly states what will be
