Finally arrived in Nairobi this afternoon! I have already met with Dan, the founder of the Matibabu organization, Dr. Okango, the chief of medical clinics, and Ben, the chief of finance. They are an amazing and inspired group! They have already networked with so many local organizations with the sole purpose of serving the community and achieving the dream that health care is a universal right. And they are dreaming big, with hopes of working with the government to form community programs to reduce maternal mortality, to help women access prenatal care, to help prevent and educate about HIV/STDs and malaria and that is only the beginning! It’s so exciting to be with such a tireless group of wonderful people. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks, we will do a free share translating medical swahili to english!
