Kaiser Oakland PCCM fellows regularly present original research at regional and national conferences. Fellows interested in research learn clinical research skills and are supported with protected time for research, on-site research scientists and biostatisticians, and funding to attend and present at meetings.
Oakland Kaiser has a strong 60-year affiliation with the Kaiser Permanente Division of Research (DOR), the largest non-University-based epidemiology research group in the country. Scholarly activity is supported by a full-time GME Research Program Manager who also collaborates closely with the Division of Research and KP Oakland faculty mentors
Additional training is available for fellows interested in a research track or pursuing career development awards. Research training opportunities include a mentored track during your third year of fellowship training or through a separate two-year Delivery Science fellowship.
